About Us

FQB Transfer is built and maintained by Five Quantum Bits (Five Quantum Bits). We design and develop software products with a focus on reliability, performance, and real-world workflows.

Our team has shipped production systems across macOS, iOS, Android, and the web. We build tools that help professionals move faster, reduce risk, and stay in control—especially in environments where file transfer is part of daily operations.

FQB Transfer: FTP Client for Mac

FQB Transfer is a modern FTP client for Mac built for developers, sysadmins, agencies, and teams who need secure file transfers and clean session management. If you’re coming from Windows, it’s a practical WinSCP alternative for macOS, with a familiar, productivity-first workflow.

Why we built this FTP client

File transfer tools are often either too basic (fine for occasional uploads) or too cluttered (slow when you work with multiple servers daily). We built FQB Transfer to support modern protocols, reduce friction, and keep the workflow fast and predictable—especially for teams juggling staging/production environments and client infrastructure.

What FQB Transfer supports

FQB Transfer is a secure FTP client that supports the protocols professionals actually use:

  • FTP and FTPS (FTP over TLS)
  • SFTP and SCP (SSH-based file transfer)
  • Amazon S3 (S3 buckets)
  • WebDAV (WebDAV servers)

Designed for day-to-day work: saved sessions, multiple connections, clear navigation, and a workflow that stays consistent across projects.

Security and privacy approach

Security matters in any FTP/SFTP client. We recommend using SFTP or FTPS whenever possible. You control which servers you connect to and what data you transfer. Keep your server credentials safe and use strong authentication (password managers, SSH keys, least-privilege access).

FQB Transfer is built for secure workflows: use SFTP/FTPS, verify host keys when prompted, and keep staging/production clearly separated.

FAQ

Is FQB Transfer a WinSCP alternative for Mac?

Yes. If you used WinSCP on Windows, FQB Transfer is designed to feel familiar on macOS while supporting modern protocols such as SFTP, FTPS, S3, and WebDAV.

What’s the best protocol to use?

Use SFTP when available (common default port 22). Use FTPS when your provider requires FTP over TLS. Avoid plain FTP unless you have no alternative.

Who is this FTP client for?

Developers, agencies, IT teams, and businesses that manage servers, deploy websites, update configurations, or move data between local machines and remote endpoints.
